SHAKATAK - Live at The Playhouse 2003

This 18-song performance was filmed and recorded at the Playhouse Theatre in Epsom, UK on May 28th 2003. It's presented here in Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and features an exclusive interview with the band. Shakatak's sound is as cool, sophisticated and uplifting as a sparkling cocktail. They were the leading lights of the British jazz-funk scene in the eighties. The band maintains a cult status with their catchy and relaxed music. They play an elegant, sophisticated and unashamedly laid-back type of jazz-funk similar to that made popular by American bands like Spyro Gyra, the famous Brecker Brothers and occasionally the Crusaders.

TANGERINE DREAM - Live in America 1992

Though dating back to 1967, the trancelike, atmospheric soundscapes of German new age band Tangerine Dream have been most influential to the electronic musicians of the 1990s. MIKE STERN - Live New Morning 2004 (with DENNIS CHAMBERS & RICHARD BONA)

This performance was recorded at the New Morning is Paris on November 9, 2004 and features three time Grammy nominee Stern side by side with super bassist singer Richard Bona at the New Morning in 2004. It was written in the stars that Mikes fiery guitar and Richards singing bass should meet. Supported rhythmically and melodically by legendary drummer Dennis Chambers and brilliant tenor saxophonist Bob Franceschini, the Mike Stern Band brings forth stirring lyricism that will sound irresistible to music lovers everywhere.

BILLY COBHAM - Culturemix Live at New Morning 2002

This is clearly underlined in the live recording made in September 2002 at the Paris New Morning club. The New Morning - The Paris Concert DVD contains twelve great tracks, where all of the musicians involved show themselves to be fantastic soloists. High points are the new versions of "Crosswinds", "Dreamer", "Mister BC", "Dessiccated Coconuts", "Stratus" and "Spectrum". As a bonus there is a recording of a sound check, where Billy Cobham and his new musical companions obviously had a lot of fun. LARRY CARLTON & STEVE LUKATHER Band

This long-awaited, on-stage meeting of guitar legends Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather was shot at a 2001 show at Paris`s New Morning Festival. Known as a "guitarist`s guitarist," Carlton was an integral part of some of the most successful music of the 1970s, playing for many years with Steely Dan and contributing to numerous Joni Mitchell records. Meanwhile, Lukather became a recognized guitar maestro for his work with Toto, while developing a successful solo career. The two musicians` respect for one another and their pleasure in playing together is apparent here, as they pool their creative reservoirs for an inspirational, unforgettable evening.

KAZUMI WATANABE - One For All (with John Patitucci, Larry Coryell)

2004 release. This spectacular and memorable concert was held as a tribute to The Bottom Line in New York featuring a stellar lineup with Kazumi Watanabe, Mike Mainieri, Larry Coryell, John Patitucci, Mino Cinelu, Akiko Yano that amazed everyone that night. FOURPLAY - Live in Cape Town 2008 (2009 Released)

Fourplay is a jazz supergroup comprised of Bob James, Nathan East, Larry Carlton, and Harvey Mason. Their smooth sounds have endeared them to jazz connoisseurs all over the world, and this live recording finds them playing in Cape Town, South Africa 2008. Fourplay is Jazz at its finest. Excellent music video. I have all of their music and have never been disapointed with any album. They are a joy to watch and this performance is a masterpiece. Buy it and see what I mean.

MARCUS MILLER - Master Of All Trades (2 DVD)

This special 2 disc Docu-Concert contains a 2 hour concert from Grammy Award winning Marcus Miller, the world's best jazz bass player, together with an entire second disc filled with 2 hrs of bonus tracks as well as many topics of interest to music fans constructed through interviews with music superstars such as Luther Vandross, Roberta Flack, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Bill Withers, Omar Hakim, Ralph MacDonald, Lenny White, Denzil Miller and Lalah Hathaway. A one of a kind tribute to a music giant who continues to set the bar higher as time goes on. This is a great DVD, Marcus gives a high performance on Bass, the Bass Clerinet and keyboards. As a bass player, I was motivated by his talent and hard work and it gave me the chance to see him on stage playing, for I have not had the chance to see him live at a concert. A must have DVD if you are a musician, or a lover of his music!
This dvd is a best buy. The sound quality is really good, the quality of the music and the playing too.

VICTOR WOOTEN - Live at Bass Day 1998

Victor Wooten, bass virtuoso and Bass Player Magazine's Bass Player of the Year for 1997 and 1998, performs here in a trio setting rounded out by his brother, Elijah, on guitar, and Kelly Gravely on drums. The selections Wooten tackles range from "U Can't Hold No Groove" to "Norwegian Wood" and provide him ample opportunity to show why he's the best electric bassist in the world. INCOGNITO - In Concert

Scoring an early hit with his cover of "I Shot the Sheriff," released with his first band Light of the World, Maunick continued to collaborate with his partner from that project, Paul "Tubbs" Williams. Later, Incognito's cover of Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" topped the charts in the early 90s. MEZZOFORTE - Live in REYKJAVIK 2007 (2008 Released)

Mezzoforte were formed over 30 years ago.. In fact, they were only teenagers when they created Iceland's first international chart-hit, GARDEN PARTY in 1983. 25 years later, Mezzoforte are back to celebrate the quarter-century anniversary of the single and are ready to release their 12th album, followed by tours of Europe and Asia. The DVD, Live in Reykjavik features 20 songs recorded by Mezzoforte in a special 10 piece version of the band during 3 concerts in Reykjavik, Iceland in March of 2007. Bonus material consists of footage from rehearsals as well as a slide show of photos spanning the band’s career. LEVEL 42 - RETROGLIDE Tour 2006 - 2007 (2008 released) DVD9

Filmed live at the New Theatre, Oxford, on 31/10/06, Retroglide is a recording of Level 42's last English show on the 2006 tour of the same name. The show is chock full of pitch perfect 4 part harmony vocals, fantastic guitar work from Mark's brother 'Nathan', great Sax solos from Sean Freeman, some complicated grooves from Gary Husband - one of the best British funk drummers around, wonderful additional percussion from Kwaku Dzidzornu and of course longest serving members Lindup and King sharing vocal duties and really showing talent on their instruments. The live sound is wonderfully mixed and monitored although some older fans feel the bass is hidden to low in the mix. I think this may be due to the fact that King is using his Retroglide and Black Beauty Status basses that fans of the old Jaydees and Alembics are disapproving of. Personally - I think it's great. I always think that King will overcrowd with his lines and get in the way of the vocal but I suppose that is something he has worked on over the years by doing both at the same time and nailing the balance every time. The original feel, sound and flavour of the studio tracks is still present but with new twists and turns musically. Good light show too!


HIROMI UEHARA - Live at SAN JAVIER JAZZ Fest 2008

Few artists have caused an impression since their debut album as the young Japanese pianist & composer Hiromi Uehara. Spectacular in her concerts, she attacks the keys like a cyclone. With the strength of nature, transmitting energy & passion when the song requires it or radiating sensibility & sweetness in ballads. She is also a great & prolific composer, as shown by her five albums: Another Mind, Brain, Spiral, Time Control or The very Latest one Beyond Standard. in which the two usual members or her trio bassist Tony Grey & drummer Martin Valihora are joined by the fantastic guitarist David Fluczynski forming the group Hiromi's Sonicbloom, who will also accompanying on her return to Jazz San Javier. Where she left some very good memories
after her performance in the eight edition of the festival.

CHICK COREA Electric Band - Live at IOWA State University

This DVD features an engaging performance by Chick Corea (Keyboards) with Dave Weckl (Drums) and John Patitucci (Bass) at Iowa State University circa 1987. Corea travels between the jazz and fusion worlds with great ease, since he became part of Miles Davis' renowned electric group from 1968-'70, and then formed Return to Forever, with Stan Getz which began as a Latin-flavored group, then shifted toward electric fusion and fame. Since the late '70s, Corea has alternated in the electric and acoustic realms with his Elektric and Akoustic Bands, recording in contexts ranging from solo and duo projects and has won eight Grammys out of 25 nominations. This DVD is sheer proof of this magnificence.

Guitarist Pat Metheny has been an established player on the jazz scene since the mid 1970s. IMAGINARY DAY LIVE finds Metheny teaming up with his longstanding backing band to perform a full show at the Mountain Winery, which is located in Saratoga, California. The concert was shot in 1998 and the material performed is based around Metheny's experimental 1997 album IMAGINARY DAY. Among the tracks performed are reworkings of "Follow Me," "Imaginary Day," and

Petrucci, who rose to prominence in the progressive metal band Dream Theater, distinguishes himself here, and proves that his six-string skills are on par with revered axe-slinging of Vai and Satriani. In addition to some extended jams, there are covers of classic, guitar-defining rock songs (Deep Purple's "Smoke On the Water" and Jimi Hendrix's "Foxey Lady," among them) that add a dash of fun to the jaw-dropping pyrotechnics on offer.


JOE SATRIANI LIVE in San Francisco 2000 (2 DVD)

This 150 minute, 25 song live concert was recorded at The Fillmore in San Francisco in December 2000. LEE RITENOUR - OVERTIME Live 2004 (2 DVD)

This 18 song 2-DVD set covers his music from the 70s to the present. It covers 4 distinct areas starting out with acoustic jazz and moving into Brazilian music with Ivan Lins, fusion days at The Baked Potato including the original band of Dave Grusin, Patrice Rushen, Anthony Jackson, HArvey Mason, Ernie Watts, and Steve Foreman, as well as many of his popular 80s songs. There are also 2 new songs, one of which is a new single with vocalist Kenya Hathaway. With his distinctly fluid playing style, Lee Ritenour has established himself as one of the world's leading jazz fusion guitarists. Dubbed "Captain Fingers" for his manual dexterity, Ritenour began his career in the early 1970s as a session player for artists as diverse as the Mamas and the Papas, Tony Bennett, Pink Floyd, and Dizzy Gillespie before launching himself as a solo artist in 1976. Since then, Ritenour's long and varied career has moved from traditional jazz and jazz fusion in the 1970s to Brazilian music and smooth jazz in he 1980s and '90s. The aptly titled OVERTIME captures Ritenour in every stage of his career with a selection of 19 songs that feature guest appearances by longtime cohorts Dave Grusin, Patrice Rushen, Anthony Jackson, Harvey Mason, Ernie Watts, and Steve Foreman (all of whom played with Ritenour at the legendary Los Angeles jazz club the Baked Potato) as well as more recent collaborators such as Brazilian singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, saxophonist Eric Marienthal, trumpeter Chris Botti, and vocalist Kenya Hathaway.


CHICK COREA Live at Montreux 2004

Corea performs at Montreux in 2004 with sidement John Patitucci on bass, Frank Gambale on guitar, Dave Weckl on drums, and Eric Marienthal on sax. The 2 and a half hour concert was part of the tour for the most recent Elektric Band album To the Stars, and the first part of the concert is made up of a number of tracks from that album. After the interlude, the band comes back to offer a selection of classic tracks. Legendary pianist Chick Corea remains a towering figure in the world of jazz music, first as a keyboard player for Miles Davis during the trumpeter's groundbreaking BITCHES BREW era in the late-'60s, and then as co-founder (with bassist Stanley Clarke) of the seminal jazz-fusion band Return to Forever. This concert film captures the jazz icon performing at the 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival with the Chick Corea Elektric Band, which features Corea on keyboards, John Patitucci on bass, Frank Gambale on guitar, Dave Weckl on drums, and Eric Marienthal on saxophone. Corea's rhythmic style and uniquely inventive approach to improvisation are on full display in the electrifying two-and-a-half-hour performance, which features live renditions of his 2004 album, TO THE STARS, as well as a selection of older classics such as "Eternal Child," "Spain," and "Blue Miles.


STEVE VAI Live at The Astoria London

This DVD concert video was recorde while on tour in 2001, supporting his "Alive in the Ultra World" release. Recorded in 5.1 surround sound mix, the DVD features backstage footage, interviews, a complete discography and commentary track from steve and his superstar bnad, including Billy Sheehan, Virgil Donati, Tony MacAlpine and Dave Weiner. Some of the songs featured in the 2 1/2 hour concert are being performed live for the very first time. Steve Vai is a world-renowned virtuoso guitarist, captured here at the London Astoria on December 6 and 7th, 2001. With a tight band backing him, Vai lets loose with some awesome fretboard action, some of which will leave guitar aficionados gobsmacked. Two Hendrix songs are covered ("Fire," and "Little Wing") as well as some original songs including "Shy Boy," "Blue Powder," "For The Love of God," "The Attitude Song," and many more.


YELLOW JACKETS 25 Live

This 25th anniversary of Yellow Jackets. Guitarist Robben Ford and his Yellow Jackets love to playfully work seemingly disparate styles into their music. JEAN MICHEL JARRE - Oxigene Moscow Live

This 120 minute DVD celebrated Moscow's 850th birthday in 1997 and features The Ex-Red Army Choir, Bolshioi Kids Choir and Young Bolshoi Dancers. French native Jean Michel Jarre is one of the leading innovators of the European electronica. A keyboardist and composer, Jarre started out composing ballet scores and film soundtracks. Now married to actress Charlotte Rampling, he has turned his complete attention to his revolutionary electronic operas. OXYGENE MOSCOW was filmed at a 1997 celebration in honor of Moscow's 850th birthday. Attended by nearly 4 million people, Jean Michel Jarre performed some of his music with the accompaniment of the Bolshoi Kid and Red Army Choirs. In addition to this live extravaganza, a documentary about Jarre entitled JEAN MICHEL JARRE: THE PORTRAIT is included on this video.


CASIOPEA Vintage Live 2002 (2 DVD) or (1 DVD9)

2003 release. Japan's kings of electric funk/fusion recorded live at the Akasaka Blitz, in Japan on December 22, 2002, with special guest Toshiyuki Honda on sax. Issei Noro - guitars; Minoru Mukaiya - keys; Yoshihiro Naruse - bass; and Akira Jimbo - drums. Running Time: 125 Minutes.


CASIOPEA Live History Part 2 (2 DVD)

2002 release. Two more shows from the Casiopea Archives packaged together as a two DVD set. The first DVD 'Joia Casiopea World Tour' was recorded live in Japan, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, and the US during July-September 1988. The band: Issei Noro - guitar; Minoru Mukaiya - keys; Tetsuo Sakurai - bass; Akira Jimbo - drums; and a horn section! The second DVD, 'Made In Melbourne,' was recorded in Melbourne, Australia on February 26, 1992 and features Issei Noro - guitar; Minoru Mukaiya - keys; Yoshihiro Naruse - bass; and Masaaki Hiyama - drums.
