FRAGILE - Modest & Proud

2006 Release. This is the first dvd from the ever popular Japanese fusion band Fragile. Six of their most popular tracks recorded live. I love Japanese fusion bands. Fragile is one of the finest - not just in Japan, but the entire world. They are that good. Really. Veering from clever melodies to tear your face off intensity (often in the same song), they always keep things interesting. The musicianship is top notch, each player a virtuoso - check it out. But they really gel as a band.
I figured all the fusion lovers would appreciate this extremely RARE recording from an intimate club in Tokyo.

DOUBLE TIME JAZZ COLLECTION - Lee Ritenour & Steps Ahead (2 DVD)

This sixth volume of the DOUBLE TIME JAZZ COLLECTION presents a pair of concerts from two of the biggest names in jazz fusion. Recorded in California in 1984, LEE RITENOUR - RIT SPECIAL finds guitarist Lee Ritenour performing a selection of mostly original material that includes "Heavenly Bodies," "Mr. Briefcase," "Dolphin Dreams," and many more. STEPS AHEAD - LIVE IN TOKYO features fusion band Steps Ahead advancing their unique brand of electric jazz in a 1986 concert that includes performances of "Beirut," "Self Portrait," "Charlayne," and many more.
This DVD includes both programs with on-screen notes about the concert, full biographical details, and extensive background information about the artists and songs.

MARCUS MILLER - In Concert

The acclaimed jazz musician Marcus Miller is filmed live at Baden Baden, Germany's Ohne Filter. The talented bassist plays 6 of his most compelling songs, including "Rampage," "Panther," "Scoop," "Tutu," "Ju Ju," and "Steveland.". Special DVD features include an interview with producer Bernhard Roessle, an artist biography and sound tuning. Recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1 PCM Stereo.
