One of the great musical triumphs of 2013 was unquestionably Steve Hackett’s stellar performance at the Royal Albert Hall in October. This was a remarkable night, when the guitarist didn’t so much revisit his Genesis roots, as reimagine them, to use a well-known Hollywood term. While the night was dubbed Genesis Revisited, what was really impressive was the joyous manner in which he and his carefully chosen band immersed themselves in the flow and timbre of some of the most iconic songs of all time, thereby creating an experience that brought a lifetime’s achievement for Hackett into bold focus for the 21st Century. “When it comes to choosing the songs from the Genesis catalogue,” says Hackett. “I obviously have ideas of my own of what we should do. But I do listen to the fans, and also the other members of the band. It is difficult to get the right balance between playing the songs the way they were first performed, and adding in something extra. As far as I’m concerned, what matters is the authenticity of what you are doing, not whether you play all the same notes in the same order.

In January 2011, the Shiina Ringo-led Tokyo Jihen formally announced that they would split up at the end of February. To give their eight years together a proper ending, the band went on the two-week Domestique Bon Voyage to say farewell to their fans across Japan. Now, the final show of the tour at Nippon Budokan - which was broadcast live in cinemas across Japan and Asia - is now coming on video. In addition to new songs from their final mini-album Color Bar, Tokyo Jihen also performed fan favorites like OSCA, Nodoteki Sanpunkan, Killer Tune, and even Shiina Ringo's own Marunouchi Sadistic.

Boing, We'll Do It Live! is the first live album of The Aristocrats, released on December 10, 2012. Footage and sound for this release were recorded in two concerts held at Alvas Showroom in Los Angeles, California. During those concerts the band played material from their debut album as well as songs from each band members' solo projects. The album was released on double-CD and DVD. The deluxe edition consists of both the DVD and the two CDs including two bonus tracks not featured on standard editions.

Like any musician, saxophonist Kim Waters performing live and on record are two different people. His records are smooth-jazz gems, polished to perfection and chock full of hooks. Live, Waters’ style is to play a quick snippet of a top hit and go off into improv-land, showing his true jazz chops. Waters’ first DVD is a cross between the two situations: It’s one in a continuing series by Shanachie filmed live in the studio, with no audience, at Harbourfront Centre Theatre in Toronto. You’ll see Waters playing superbly in front of bandmates James Waters Jr. on bass, Gregory Grainger on drums and Allen Smith on keys. You’ll hear him extend out the jams on two of his biggest hits, “The Ride” and “Waterfall,” and understand why the ladies love him as he plays his gorgeous ballad “All I Wanna Do (Is Please You).” And you’ll also see him play the hell out of his funky little trademark curved sopranino saxophone.

Tangerine Dream are German-based purveyors of imaginative electronic music. There have been numerous line-ups since the band's formation in September 1967, although Edgar Froese has remained at the head of affairs throughout. Tangerine Dream's impressive live reputation dates back to the early 70's. Their shows tended to be completely improvised. From these live improvisations came several of the bands early successful albums including "Phaedra", "Zeit" and "Ricochet". The 35th anniversary concert was a concert that found the band celebrating the recording of the landmark album Phaedra. The concert which was filmed on the 11th of June 2005 was performed in front of a sell out audience and featured material from Phaedra alongside newer more recent material. The band which features Thorsten Quaeschning, Linda Spa, Jerome Froese and Iris Camaa were filmed and recorded for this landmark concert and perform many pieces from the bands lengthy career including Phaedra '05, Rubycon Pt.1, Force Majeure, Logos and a cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic Purple Haze.
The Bonus DVD (DVD2) has interviews with all the members of the band and some extras like the soundcheck performance, fans interviews, and a photograph slideshow of the concert. This 35th Phaedra Anniversary Concert is a must for every fan of TANGERINE DREAM. It is a good "sampler" of all TANGERINE DREAM music.

In December 1974 Tangerine Dream were invited to play in the grand setting of Rheims Cathedral, a move certainly seen at the time as groundbreaking. Because of this, they were then invited to perform in the cathedrals of York, Liverpool and Coventry. The tour attracted unprecedented coverage in the media, especially at Coventry Cathedral, an iconic building rising like a Phoenix on the ruins of the old cathedral bombed to bits by the Germans in 1940 (Tangerine Dream is, after all, a German band) as a celebration of peace and reconciliation, as well as a lasting showcase for Great Contemporary Art.

The DVD contains a complete concert with 90 minutes of an inspired and energetic Roxette live from Curitiba, Brazil, Cordoba in Argentina and Santiago in Chile. The film really captures the ecstatic mood of a typical concert in South America in the spring 2012, from the introduction of "Dressed for Success" to the sing-along party in the final encore "Church of Your Heart." In addition to the concert film is also the poignant and insightful documentary "It All Begins Where It Ends," recorded on the road while Roxette for eighteen months did their unique return to the world stage.

The Hollies: Look Through Any Window 1963 – 1975 film every effort has been made to locate the best possible sound and video; each of the performances has been re-transferred and re-mastered from the best-quality, original masters (some having rested in storage vaults for almost 50 years). In the case of lip-sync performances, the original stereo master recordings have been used, replacing the mono broadcast sound and making for a much more enjoyable viewing and listening experience. The DVD also features an informative booklet with an extensive essay by former Rolling Stone editor and award-winning writer, Ben Fong-Torres, including rare photographs and memorabilia. In addition, the DVD features never-before-seen home movies of the group on tour in the ‘60s in America, Europe and Japan and backstage at television appearances, providing a rare glimpse of their offstage lives.
